Hadn’t he got a book from his girlfriend, he wouldn’t be a Franciscan father today. As he himself claims, his calling is one of the many surprises which were set out for him by God. Father Filip Buczyński OFM has been one his mission for over thirty years, serving terminally ill children and their families in an exceptional manner. In the Little Prince Hospice in Lublin, he supports them in their fight and he is there for them when they pass away. As an experienced therapist and psychooncologist, he supports little patients and helps the families in mourning.
In an honest and moving conversation with Tomasz P. Terlikowski, he talks about his fascination with St. Francis, about running the perinatal hospice, about the fight for each life and the sense of suffering. In an emotional way, the Franciscan father proves to the readers that everybody can be the tool of God’s Mercy and testifies to small and big miracles we should open our eyes to.

Father Filip, in an incredibly moving and humorous way, talks about the secrets of coping with illness, suffering, and hardships in his hospice work; but foremost, he talks about the miracles he witnessed. Every conversation I have had with him has filled me with joy and hope. Everyone can experience it when diving into this book.

Father Filip Buczyński, founder of the Little Prince Hospice for Children in Lublin, is a fascinating character. Deeply set spiritually in his Franciscan ways, he skillfully copes in our postmodern world. The world which is comlicated, difficult, and at times challenging beyond measure. Father Filip’s work and his yearslong efforts are fruitful. His smile, understanding and readiness to help the needy make Father Filip one of my masters and friends. His life story is absolutely compelling. I recommend this reading!

Father Filip. What defines hm is the love for his neighbour which he shares continually with the afflicated, the departing, and with all those whose fate led through the open doors to the Little Prince Hospice in Lublin – an exceptional place, where Father Filip witnesses many difficult moments; a place chich radiates with sensitivity towards the others.
Witnessing a child’s suffering stirs extreme emotion, and when it’s linked with a premonition of passing, the parent’s darma surges painfully. Heaven created by Father Filip brings assuagement. The hospice team works as one body dedicated totally to this cause. Every child who lost the fight leaves behind an imprint, which is preserved in a tree planted to commemorate his or her passing. There are a lot of them. Not only do they rustle in the wind, but they also make music of prayer for those who are already on the other side, and they strenghten our faith in Father Filip’s mission.
